Today’s photo was going to be of a cluster of red dead-nettles, which are blooming at the bottom of our compost bin, not very exciting but quite pretty and I’ve already noticed a couple of bees visiting them. However as I arrived to the nettle patch I glanced down and noticed a couple of beetles enjoying themselves on the rhubarb. In my head Barry White was singing away.
For those that like the detail I believe these are Green Dock Beetles, apparently they’re a bit fond of rhubarb, so tomorrow morning will be spent checking the leaves to make sure it’s not going to be gobbled up by baby beetles.
Imptessive beetles!

I won’t be as impressed if they gobble up my rhubarb! 😉

To be honest, I’m prepared to sacrifice your rhubarb for such magnificent beetles. Though I do see your point…
