This week is my first week as church guardian, it sounds quite fancy (especially for someone who attends church infrequently), but it just means I have to unlock and lock the church at the start and end of the day. This is the hazy view I took in as wandering home last night.
There are a number of gooseberry bushes in the hedgerow along the lane, which I have been keeping my eye on over the last month or so. Gooseberries are one of my favourite fruits, straight off the bush, which I know is a bit weird but there we go. Imagine my delight when I spotted this promise of things to come this morning (assuming the birds don’t gobble them all up first). Yet another reason why I love this place.
